The Initiative for Equal Rights announces the appointment of Omolara Oriye as acting Executive Director

The Initiative for Equal Rights announces the appointment of Omolara Oriye as acting Executive Director following Olumide Makanjuola stepping down from the role after over five years of dedicated and transformative work.  Olumide will continue to support TIERs in other capacity.

Omolara is currently TIERs’ Human Rights and Advocacy Director and has shown great leadership and knowledge in her role.  She has represented TIERs both in Nigeria and across the Anglophone sub region. Omolara is a trained lawyer and journalist and has brought these skills to further strengthen TIERs’ work.

Omolara will lead and guide the team at TIERs to ensure a smooth and ongoing transition as we recruit a new Executive Director. In this transitional phase, we the board of trustees assure all implementing and funding partners that TIERs will continue to deliver on all of its commitments.
